Saving Mother Earth

Save Mother Earth

Everyone should plant more trees
Then the wind will be full of O2 breeze
Use the energy generated from the wind
Pass the message to change people's mind
We can put our legs on pedals
Recycling will put Mother Earth with medals
Keep our lights when we need
This is one of the big green seed.

Project 3: Teachers writing poems.

We were a bit shocked when we found out that some adults would not listen to our research, so we think that by making adults join in with our project they will help us more.
In this project we will ask all grown ups in school to write a poem. We will choose a winner. The winning poet must then go all the classes and share with the children their poem. The winner will also do a lesson on how they made their poem and the children will then write their own poems.

We think this will help us answer these questions:
Do we do enough poetry things?
Why would adults not listen to our research?
Do most people loke comdery in their poems?
What would help us understand poems more?

Project 2: Poems to read anywhere and anytime.

Mrs Billen knows of a project where poems were put on display all over the place, in bus stops, shops, streets and everywhere. Mrs Billen will get some of these posters and put them all over our school, will children read poems more?
Once these poems are up we will try to get people to read them.
We will also talk to mrs Billen about this project and share ideas.

Project One: Asking the year two teachers to do more poetry projects.

Our first project will be to get the year two teachers to do more poetry work in our literacy lessons. Mr Lea will ask the team to look at the poetry in their planning, plan a project that looks at how we can understand poems better and then end this project with a week project all about the teachers favourite poems.
This whole project will take four weeks. We will read, listen to, write and study poems.

Questions we want to explore.

From our first collection of information there were lots of answers that didn’t give us a real idea of what people are thinking. Lots of our questions resulted in mixed results.
So, we have looked at these mixed resulted and created some questions to investigate these areas more closely.
These questions will be linked with our cause and effect projects.

Do people think poetry is silly as in silly funny or silly rubbish?
Now we have done some projects in class on poetry, do we understand it better?
How is poetry rude?
Why do some people think that poetry is not a real subject?
Do we do enough poetry things?
What stops us reading poems everyday?
Why would adults not listen to our ideas and research?
What confuses people when they read poems?
Why don’t people listen to poems?
What don’t you like about poems?
What would help you understand poems more?
How come nearly all children said that they didn’t know any famous poets?
If we like acting out poems, will this help us understand them more?
Why don’t we choose to write poems?
What s poetry all about? Why does it matter if a poem is long or short?
Why don’t most children have a favourite poem?

What our information has told us.

Some People know what poems were before we started our project, but not everyone.

Most people said they could describe a poem, but found it hard to describe what poetry is.

More people voted to say that poetry was not silly, but by only one vote.

Most people liked comedy in their poems.

Not many people read poems everyday.

Most people believe that reading poems will make you smarter.

Most people could not tell us what poetry was about, or they had lots of different ideas.

Most people said poems were special.

What our first collection of information has told us.
